I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Rockaway! My room was on the ground floor by the beautiful pool. The room looked newly renovated, although the bathroom was missing a door handle on the inside. The air conditioning was amazing, and the bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet when I stayed here, but I stayed in July on a week day. The beach view apartments are right on the street, so maybe that’s why some reviewers mention noise? The area around the bed was a bit small and I wasn’t a big fan of the bathroom being right next to the bed. They include breakfast, which was very nice and the staff is incredibly friendly.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at Rockaway! We spent a whole week at the hotel and felt absolutely spoiled with the service and amazing breakfast plus the daily housekeeping. We got the standard room on ground floor which is a smaller room but we felt the price was very reasonable. If you need more space definitely upgrade to the Deluxe room. The hotel location is perfectly located at the beach of Zicatela nearby to all the bars and restaurants. For dinner we definitely liked going to La Punta which was a 15 min drive but Zicatela has the party life and big waves if that’s what you’re looking for. The hotel pool is nice if you want to stay in and enjoy their amenities. Their drinks are very fairly priced for Mexican standards. We were very happy with our stay and plan on coming back one day. Please note Puerto Escondido doesn’t have great wifi so if you need to work on homework or work there’s a nearby cafe called Amarisa with fast wifi.

We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful service. Super relaxing vibe. Pools are fab. Beds nice and firm. Comfortable and also a great location opposite the beach. Staff are warm and helpful. (They even gave us a hand organising our engagement night) Highly recommended. 5/5

We loved the hotel, pool was beautiful and the location great. The room was smallish but very clean, with a comfortable bed and nice balcony. The staff were very helpful and nothing was a bother. The only major downside of this hotel is the outdoor club that goes from 12am-6am in the vacant block right behind the hotel. If your room backs onto this as ours did, good luck sleeping Thurs-Sat night. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the nightclub.

Initially we liked the hotel because it is beautiful and well maintained. The pool is clean, the location - good. The room was very small, with a toilet next to the bed with a makeshift door (so we can feel all the aromas)! For 5 days our sheets were not changed! The internet in the room was almost non-existent, not to mention the huge cockroaches everywhere that we had to kill ourselves! All this forces us to give a low rating to the otherwise nice hotel!

Great service and location. Clean and the breakfast included is good. The pools are nice for children and adults. Nice bars and restaurants near the hotel. I really recommend the cafecito is delicious.

Didn’t know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised. You can tell this place is ran very well. Someone is always around to attend to your needs. It has a mix of chill and party. We got a room with an ocean view. If you want that view, you’ll have to deal with the night/morning noise which we didn’t mind. But I can see some people would complain. I can’t think of a better location if you want to spend a couple nights in Zicatela and want to enjoy the night life.

I love this hotel we keep extending our stay, the breakfast is good and the pools are awesome, they even have chairs on the beach! The hotel rooms are so nice the cleaning lady’s did such a good job every day! I can’t say enough good things about this place! Miguel the reception was an amazing host and exceeded our expectations, we will definitely be back
